Irish Film AmericaIrish Film America (IFA) is a new organization dedicated to bringing the best of contemporary Irish film to US audiences, providing a platform for Irish filmmakers to showcase their independently-produced feature films, documentaries, short films and animation. In March 2008, IFA will host its first Irish Film Festival with screenings in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. Co-presenting partners are: Los Angeles Irish Film Festival , San Francisco Irish Film Festival and the Seattle Irish Reels Film Festival.This will be the inaugural Irish Film Festival of Los Angeles. Films previously premiered at the San Francisco and Seattle festivals include: ONCE  ( John Carney) -winner of audience award at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY (Ken Loach)- winner of the Palme D’or at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. SIX SHOOTER (Martin McDonagh) –winner of an Academy Award for best live action short.

 This Tri-City Festival will kick off in Los Angeles at the Clarity Theatre in the heart of Beverly Hills.Opening night will include a screening of a feature film followed by a Tribute reception.  During the course of three days, we will showcase a combination of features, shorts and documentaries.  Directors, producers and cast will be invited to present their films in person and participate in discussions with the audience.
