Lance Daly’s ‘Kisses’ has been nominated for a Spirit Award in the category of Foreign Film. The film recently finished its American theatrical release and will compete for the Foreign Film title at a gala ceremony on February 26th 2011.

The GuardProduced by Reprisal Films and Element Pictures with the support of the Irish Film Board, ‘The Guard’ stars Brendan Gleeson as an unorthodox Irish policeman who joins forces with a straitlaced FBI agent, played by Don Cheadle (‘Traitor’ and ‘Oceans Thirteen’), to take on an international drug-smuggling gang.

Co-presenting partners are: Los Angeles Irish Film Festival, San Francisco Irish Film Festival and the Seattle Irish Reels Film Festival. The festivals are supported by Culture Ireland, The Irish Consulate in San Francisco, and the Irish Film Institutes’s Reel Ireland traveling film program.

Fiscal sponsorship is provided by the Irish Arts Foundation in San Francisco.
