			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Irish Film America (IFA) is a new organization dedicated to bringing the best of contemporary Irish film to US audiences, providing a platform for Irish filmmakers to showcase their independently-produced feature films, documentaries, short films and animation. In March 2008, IFA will support the San Francisco Irish Film Festival and The Seattle Irish Reels Festival. In October, it will launch the Los Angles Irish Film Festival at the Clarity Theater in Beverly Hills.</p>
<p>Co-presenting partners are: Los Angeles Irish Film Festival, San Francisco Irish Film Festival and the Seattle Irish Reels Film Festival. The festivals are supported by Culture Ireland, The Irish Consulate in San Francisco, and the Irish Film Institutes&#8217;s Reel Ireland traveling film program.</p>
<p>Fiscal sponsorship is provided by the Irish Arts Foundation in San Francisco.</p>
<p>Films previously premiered at these festivals include:ONCE  ( John Carney) -winner of audience award at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY (Ken Loach)- winner of the Palme D&#8217;or at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. SIX SHOOTER (Martin McDonagh) –winner of an Academy Award for best live action short.</p>
